Start where you are…
Make the most of what you have…
You must have seen and heard of Karun Nair of late, a young cricketer playing only his third test match and placed at number five in order of batting .
Nair had played two ODIs for India, got his chance to be a part of the Test squad after Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out of the third Test versus England following a minor fracture on his left thumb.
His scores before this match were 4 and 17.
He is the first Indian batsman to convert a maiden Test hundred into a triple-hundred; the first Indian batting at No 5 reach the 300 mark, and the highest score by an Asian batsman as a maiden Test century.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli declared India's innings as soon as Nair touched the glorious 303.
India's 759/7 is also the highest total ever scored against England in Tests.
To sum up, you should just keep doing your bit. Never brood upon where you are placed or how much time you have at your disposal.
When Karun stepped onto the field on that fateful day, he might not have even dreamt of making a century of runs, leave alone putting up a triple-hundred.
So, just take the cue, do what you are supposed to do. Have dreams and endeavour to make them come true as and when you are given the very first chance.
Every day is your day, every field is your field. Just be prepared to play along as soon as you happen to hit the ground in your respective field.
You too can be next Karun Nair, in your very own fields.
Best Wishes!!
